I’m a millennial woman who left my small hometown about four years ago to pursue a big city dream. While navigating educational and career aspirations in the Big Apple, I’ve had the privilege of experiencing so many amazing cultures here through the food they share – from Senegal, Uzbekistan, Albania, Nepal, Somalia, Puerto Rico, and the country of Georgia, just to name a few!

With each unforgettable dish, I couldn’t stop thinking about what would happen if these different flavors from all around the world coalesced into new creations as unique as the city itself. Suddenly, a new world of possibility was unlocked – what would happen if I created a savory spanakopita cannoli with ricotta and marinated feta, a jerk chicken souvlaki with Caribbean tzatziki, a smoked butterscotch tiramisu, a Persian-inspired seafood boil with saffron butter, dried lime, and Advieh-spiced Old Bay, or a yuzu chili crisp baba ganoush with scallion pancake chips?
